Words on Wing Words on Wing was conceived as a one-time performance for an audience of forty. Audience members were handed pre-made paper airplanes and pencils and instructed to write a phrase onto the plane. After approximately two minutes, the audience was asked to aim their planes toward me standing on the stage. They were told to release them on the count of three. The first part of the work was to see a literal wave of paper roll down on me. It was a beautiful, momentary visual probably most appreciated from my view. The paper airplanes were collected, placed into a grocery bag and brought to an adjacent room. During the next reader's reading, the words on the airplanes were transcribed onto a single sheet and read to the audience as the segue between readers.
